How to play Huezle.

Every round is one strip of colour and four answers. Here is how to read one in about ten seconds.

  1. Read the strip from left to right

Each band is one slice of the thing, in order: a minute, an episode, a chapter, a year. The labels under each end say where it starts and stops.

  2. Check the legend

Three dots under the strip name what the colours mean in this category. Deeper colour always means further from ordinary.

  3. Count the bands

How many bands there are is information: a seven-band TV season is a short one, a 53-band basketball game went to overtime.

  4. Tap one of the four answers

One tap answers — there is no submit button. Use “Remove one” if you want to narrow it to a 50/50.

  5. Read the reveal

Huezle tells you what it was and why it looks like that, then deals the next strip.

The three kinds of strip

Every category uses one of three shapes of colour. Once you know which one you are looking at, the strip mostly reads itself.

Two sides competing

Sports and elections. The middle colour means level, and each side has its own colour that gets deeper the further ahead it is. In NBA Playoffs, purple is the away team and gold is the home team.

A real NBA playoff game. Which one? That is the puzzle.

Each slice rated on its own

TV seasons, films, books and names. One end of the scale is bad or rare, the other is great or everywhere. In TV Shows, red is a weak episode and green is a great one.

A real season of a famous show — seven episodes.

The colours themselves

Albums is the odd one out. The cover is cut into twelve vertical slices and each band is the colour of one slice, so the strip is the sleeve squeezed into a ribbon.

A real album cover, left edge to right edge.

Streaks and the daily

Every correct answer adds to your streak, in each category and overall. The daily puzzle has its own streak, counted in days rather than answers. Missing a day resets it; there is no way to buy it back.
